According to media platforms like Vanguard and Channelstv, Just recently the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has introduced “The INEC Result Viewing (IReV)” which is a dedicated public election result viewing portal.
The commission made this known in a statement which was issued by Mr Festus Okoye, the National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, on Thursday in Abuja after its meeting.
Many Nigerians may not understand the benefits of the INEC election result viewing portal. Here are some benefits of the portal.
1. According to the commission, IRev would enable Nigerians in viewing polling unit results in real time as voting ends on election day.
2. The portal will reduce misinformation from some fake news portal on the internet.
3. it will strengthen the election management process and enhance transparency of the system.
Okoye also disclosed that, the innovation would begin from the Nasarawa Central State Constituency bye-election in Nasarawa State, holding on Saturday.
