Deputy governor of Ondo State defects to the Zenith Labour Party

Mr Agboola Ajayi, the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, has formally announced his defection to the Zenith Labour Party ahead of the states election.

According to the PUNCH, we have learnt that Ajayi, had resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party on Monday. He made the announcement on Friday, at the ZLP Secretariat in Akure, the state capital just barely after 5 days of his resignation.

The deputy governor was welcomed by the party’s faithfuls and leadership from the 18 Local Government Areas of the state.

Mr Ajayi also revealed that, hos new party has adopted him as the candidate for the forthcoming governorship election which is scheduled to hold in October.

While Addressing the party faithful in the state, the deputy governor stated that, his contesting under the ZLP was to change the political narrative of the state, and also strongly declaring that there would be no room to rig the forthcoming election.

Mr Joseph Akinlaja, the state chairman of the party, while welcoming the defectors, affirmed that the deputy governor was the candidate of the party in the October 10 ondo state governorship election.
